Alaya Artistry X V&M

Come encounter the moment just after the pebble falls, when the world holds its breath.

A ripple spreads, thins, and vanishes within seconds, impossible to hold, impossible to summon back exactly as it was. Here, it is asked to stay.

In our collaboration with Veena and Manish, clay and glass become more than material.

Ceramic becomes landscape, glass becomes the moment, and the space between them becomes the story.

Veena and Manish work between two materials with distinct characters and a shared capacity for transformation.

Veena sees the world as lines, planes, and forms, drawn from the fissures of drought-stricken earth, the texture of stone, and the movement of branches.

Manish asks when materiality begins to hold a soul, exploring how heat, pressure, and human intervention turn matter into meaning.

The ceramic is shaped low and dense, weathered by touch and fire.

From it, glass rises and fractures outward, layer upon layer of fused, shattered light, as though the earth itself has learned to move.

These works are not two materials placed together; they are the moment they become one, held long after the ripple should have vanished.

Standard-sized pieces are ready to ship, while custom orders may take longer. As each piece is made from natural petrified wood, variations in colour, texture, and pattern make every piece unique.

Caring for Your Alaya Petrified Wood Collection

Handling, Placement & Longevity

  • Placement & Movement : Petrified wood pieces can be heavy. Avoid frequent movement.
When repositioning, always lift with full support.
Edges, like any natural stone, can chip if handled roughly.
  • Over Time : With age, professional polishing may be considered if required.

Everyday Care & Cleaning

  • Daily Care : Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth to keep the surface clear.
  • Cleaning : If needed, wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap.
Dry immediately to preserve the natural finish.
  • What to Avoid : Avoid abrasives, harsh chemicals, and prolonged moisture exposure.
A light, mindful touch helps maintain its natural balance.

Preservation & Natural Finish

  • To Maintain Its Sheen :
Buff occasionally with a soft cloth to restore its natural glow.
  • For deeper nourishment and richness :
Apply a small amount of mineral oil or natural beeswax using a soft cloth.
Allow it to absorb over a few hours or overnight.
Wipe off any excess to leave a smooth, even finish.
With age, professional polishing may be considered if required.

    Note :
Unlike marble, petrified wood is non-porous and highly stable, making it easy to maintain over
    time.
