Objects that feel as though they carry a history, forms that appear unearthed, weathered, eroded, and shaped by time. No two pieces are ever the same. Each is unique in colour, texture and form. If a piece from the collection is not available, we can check with the studio for similar pieces in their inventory or explore commissioning options.

Ancient wood transformed by time into sculptural pieces rich in depth and character. While available pieces are ready to ship, custom orders may take longer. As each piece is made from natural petrified wood, variations in colour, texture, and pattern make every piece unique.

If the piece isn’t available, we require approximately 45–60 days for shipping. Variations in colour, texture, and form are part of the natural character of each piece, making every work unique.

Caring For Your Himapan Collection

Display & Handling

Use UV-filtered lighting for spotlights to protect pigments and natural fibres.
Avoid placing artworks near diffusers, incense, candles, or heat sources.
Handle artworks only with clean hands or cotton gloves.
Always lift from the frame or backing—never from the surface itself.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Gently remove surface dust using a feather brush or soft microfiber cloth.
Do not press, rub, or drag across the artwork’s surface.
Avoid liquid cleaners, sprays, or compressed air cleaners.
Inspect the piece once every quarter for loose fittings, frame wear and tear, or environmental damage.

Storage & Transport

Store unframed works flat, between acid-free archival sheets or within protective sleeves.
Wrap framed artworks in bubble wrap with corner guards, ensuring a protective barrier (paper or cloth) is placed between the artwork and bubble wrap.
Always transport artworks upright, never flat or stacked.

Caring For Your Olee Maatee Ceramic Collection

Crafted by hand. Shaped by fire. Each Olee Maatee ceramic piece carries the subtle variations and textures that make it one of a kind. Thoughtful care preserves strength, finish, and artistry
for years to come.

Display & Handling

Place on stable, level surfaces to prevent tipping or adding stress to the base.
Avoid positioning near extreme heat sources or in areas with rapid temperature fluctuations.
Lift and move pieces with both hands, supporting the base—never the rim, edges, or delicate protrusions.
Keep away from high-movement areas where accidental impact may occur.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Dust regularly using a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
Wipe gently with a damp cloth and mild soap to deep clean. Dry immediately with a soft towel.
Avoid abrasive scrubbers, harsh chemicals, or acidic cleaners that may damage the glaze or surface finish.
Do not use high-pressure water or soak unless explicitly specified for functional ware.
Inspect periodically for hairline cracks or surface wear and tear.

Storage & Transport

Wrap each piece individually in a soft cloth or bubble wrap. Use padding between items to prevent contact during storage.
Store in a dry, temperate environment.
Note: Indigo totem pole is finished using oxides on ceramic. A little water exposure, dust, or heat will not affect it. However, because the surface is slightly porous, prolonged or continuous exposure to water may lead to some natural growth on the surface.
The Growth pieces are made of ceramic and finished with glazes. These are not affected by heat, dust, or occasional water exposure.
Both these collections are fired above 1200 degrees. They won’t fade or discolour due to heat. We would recommend placing them in a shaded outdoor area only to protect them from continued water exposure, especially during monsoons.
Transport upright and cushioned securely to avoid vibration damage.

Caring For Your Petrified Wood Collection

Handling, Placement & Longevity

Placement & Movement: Petrified wood pieces can be heavy. Avoid frequent movement.
When repositioning, always lift with full support.
Edges, like any natural stone, can chip if handled roughly.
Over Time: With age, professional polishing may be considered if required.

Everyday Care & Cleaning

Daily Care: Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth to keep the surface clear.
Cleaning: If needed, wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap.
Dry immediately to preserve the natural finish.
What To Avoid: Avoid abrasives, harsh chemicals, and prolonged moisture exposure.
A light, mindful touch helps maintain its natural balance.

Preservation & Natural Finish

To Maintain Its Sheen:
Buff occasionally with a soft cloth to restore its natural glow.
For Deeper Nourishment and Richness:
Apply a small amount of mineral oil or natural beeswax using a soft cloth.
Allow it to absorb over a few hours or overnight.
Wipe off any excess to leave a smooth, even finish.
With age, professional polishing may be considered if required.
Note: Unlike marble, petrified wood is non-porous and highly stable, making it easy to maintain over
time.

Caring For Your A Ware Collection:

Display & Handling

Place the piece on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping or unnecessary stress on the base.
Avoid positioning the piece near extreme heat sources or in areas exposed to rapid temperature fluctuations.
Keep the piece away from high-traffic or high-movement areas where accidental impact may occur.
Always lift and move the piece with both hands, supporting the base. Never lift or carry it by the rim, edges, or delicate protrusions.
For larger pieces, handle with both hands and avoid placing them abruptly on hard surfaces.
Handle each piece carefully to prevent unnecessary impact, pressure, or stress to the ceramic surface.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Dust regularly using a soft, dry microfiber or clean cotton cloth.
For cleaning, wash gently under running water using your hands or a soft sponge.
If needed, use a small amount of mild dish soap.
Avoid abrasive scrubbers, metal scrubbers, rough cleaning pads, harsh cleaning agents, strong chemicals, and acidic cleaners, as these may affect the surface or finish.
Do not use high-pressure water or soak the piece unless it has been specifically designed for functional use.
After washing, allow the piece to air-dry completely in a clean, dust-free environment.
Once completely dry, gently wipe the surface with a soft, clean cotton cloth if you wish to restore its natural lustre.
Periodically inspect the piece for hairline cracks, chips, or signs of surface wear.
Please avoid oils, furniture polish, or commercial surface treatments for now. The ceramic is intended to be cared for simply, allowing its original surface to remain as it was made.
Any specialised surface treatment previously discussed may be carried out once a year. It is not a frequent treatment.

Note About Surface: Variations in colour, ash deposits, texture, and surface are intrinsic to the making and firing process. These characteristics are not imperfections; they are evidence of the individual journey of each piece through the kiln and contribute to its unique character.

Storage & Transport

Wrap each piece individually in a soft cloth or bubble wrap to protect the surface.
When storing multiple pieces, use sufficient padding between items to prevent direct contact.
Store in a dry, temperate environment, away from excessive humidity, extreme heat, and rapid temperature fluctuations.
During transport, keep pieces upright and securely cushioned to minimise movement, vibration, and impact.
Ensure that the piece is adequately supported from its base during handling and transportation.
Avoid placing heavy objects on top of, or directly against, the ceramic pieces.
